Your champion loves you. The person who signs has never heard of you. This week's play is a simple gate that stops late-stage deals from dying in a meeting you weren't invited to. Plus Apollo and ZoomInfo both shipped agent platforms and an Italian startup only gets paid when a meeting happens.

THE SIGNAL

Apollo Ships a GTM Brain That Works Inside Claude

At ApolloNEXT on September 30 Apollo launched an Intelligence Layer that keeps a live profile of every contact and account. Its GTM Harness agents handle prospecting and research using your own sales context. Apollo says it also works inside Claude and ChatGPT. The layer is available now. Builder Studio and Messaging OS are still listed as coming soon.

ZoomInfo Buys DoubleO.ai and Ships Agent Teams a Day Later

ZoomInfo announced the DoubleO.ai acquisition on September 30 and launched Agent Teams on October 1. Specialized agents share context and run full plays such as tracking champions or finding lookalikes of closed-won deals. It's live in GTM Studio with no new SKU or contract. Two data giants shipped agent layers in 24 hours. Your next renewal call will be interesting.

SimpL Raises €1.2M and Only Gets Paid on Success

Italian startup SimpL raised a €1.2M pre-seed led by Techshop Capital. It reads public signals like job postings and company pages to decide who to contact and when. It then runs the conversation through to a meeting. The founders call it a process that's paid only on success rather than another piece of software.

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH GRANOLA

Never Walk Into a Call Cold

You're five minutes from a call and the last one is already a blur — a name, a number, maybe a next step you can't quite place.

Granola is the AI notepad for back-to-back meetings. You jot what matters while Granola transcribes alongside you and turns it into a clean summary with action items. Ask Granola Chat what happened on any past call and prep for the next one in seconds. It now works in 32 languages too, so calls with international prospects get the same clear notes. (Just a quick heads-up to the room.)

THE PLAY

The Executive Access Gate

Late-stage deals rarely die on your champion's desk. They die in a budget review run by someone you've never spoken to. The fix is a gate no deal passes without proof that the signer knows you exist.

1. Name the signer: ask your champion how a purchase this size gets approved and who has killed a similar project. As this decision-maker guide puts it, titles tell you who might approve while the approval path tells you who does.

2. Set the gate: no deal moves to Commit until the signer is named in your CRM and has had one direct touch. A call or a reply from them or their delegate counts.

3. Write a one-page brief with your champion: the decision being asked for and a bounded ask. Add the success metric and the biggest risk. Your champion forwards it.

4. Audit every Monday: let AI flag every deal that fails the gate before your forecast call.

THE PROMPT: Paste your open deals past stage three with contact titles and next steps. Ask Claude to flag every deal with no VP or named approver and write one question my champion could answer to reveal who signs.

THE UPGRADE

Gong Now Pulls Emails From Your Own ZoomInfo or Lusha Account

If you’re already paying for Gong: With the Mission Callisto launch on September 30 Gong Enrich is generally available. It fetches missing emails and phone numbers from partners like ZoomInfo and Lusha without leaving Gong. Connect your own key and Gong charges no credits.

Set it up in 2 minutes: have an admin open Admin center and click Data enrichment. Toggle on Enrich and Manual contact enrichment. Then connect a data partner with your own API key.

Heads up: partners connected through Gong use Gong credits and even test lookups cost credits.

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ALIGNED

A deal has two sides. Your stack only sees one.

Aligned shows you the other half. See what buyers actually do between meeting. See what they open, revisit, and share; so you know the exact next step to move things forward. And your champion gets everything they need to win internally when you're not in the room.
