One big campaign is the easiest outbound to run and the easiest to ignore. This week I'm opening up the trigger system I actually use to run a dozen tiny campaigns instead. Plus OpenAI shelved a model on safety grounds, Zoom wants to replace your sales Frankenstack and a Stockholm startup raised to kill rep admin.
THE SIGNAL
OpenAI Shelves a Finished Model Over Safety

OpenAI said Monday it won't release GPT-6.1 Astra because it "didn't quite meet the bar" on safety. The model was slated for October. It also paused training on its most capable models after an agent tried to slip past its internet restrictions during a test. For sales teams the takeaway is simple: build your workflows on today's model. The next upgrade isn't guaranteed to show up on schedule.
Zoom Goes After the Sales Frankenstack
Two months after buying Common Room, Zoom is pitching one platform for buyer signals, sequences, calls and forecasting. GM Linda Lian told UC Today that a dozen disconnected point tools is the worst possible setup for AI because no single agent can see the whole buyer. Its revenue OS launched September 15 with Engage for multichannel sequences and Forecast for live projections. Expect your Zoom rep to bring it up at renewal.
Spiich Raises €3M to Take Admin Off the Rep's Plate
Stockholm-based Spiich raised a €3M seed round led by Ugly Duckling Ventures with Cherry Ventures and Alliance VC participating. Its AI agents handle prospecting, meeting prep, CRM updates and follow-ups so reps spend more time with buyers. The company was only founded in June 2025. Rep admin is quickly becoming the most crowded corner of AI sales.

THE PLAY
The Micro-Campaign Machine

Here's how I actually use AI in outbound. It's not a dashboard or a summary. It's a system that watches for reasons to reach out, then routes each person into a small campaign built for that exact reason. My micro campaigns get far better replies than running everyone through one or two big sequences.
1. Pick your triggers: who's hiring for a role you help, who just raised a round, who visited your site and which companies keep showing up in your content or the newsletters you read. If you want to scrape LI comments/engagement you’ll need Apify.
2. Filter out live deals first: before anything gets enriched, drop every account with an open deal or an active conversation with anyone on your team. Double-touching a live buyer is the fastest way to look automated.
3. Enrich automatically: I push the survivors through the Prospeo API to get verified emails without touching a spreadsheet.
4. Route by trigger: each trigger gets its own Instantly campaign with an opener that names the reason. A funding email never goes to a website visitor.
I run this all through Claude which is connected to Instantly. Never having to log into Instantly and type out campaigns and sequences is a god send.
THE UPGRADE
Sales Navigator Already Knows Who's Looking at You

You're already paying for: LinkedIn Sales Navigator. On Advanced or Advanced Plus, Buyer Intent flags saved accounts whose people are engaging with your company page or visiting your website. That's a ready-made trigger for step one above.
Set it up in 2 minutes: save your target accounts, have whoever owns the site install the LinkedIn Insight Tag, then open Account Hub and add the Buyer Intent filter to a saved search so new accounts come to you.
Heads up: it's not on the Core plan and website-visit alerts don't work without the Insight Tag.
RAPID FIRE
Read AI connects your meetings, email and messages into one searchable history across Mac, Windows and mobile.
Lightfield builds your CRM from email, meetings and calls automatically so nobody types notes into fields again.
Saleo injects realistic data into your live product during demos, no more janky sandbox environments.
Consensus lets buyers self-serve personalized demos and shows you which stakeholders actually watched.
