Switching tools is the scariest ask in sales. This week's script fixes that with one question. Plus Salesforce's new outbound agent and HubSpot's results from its own. There's also a free AI SDR you can host yourself.

THE SIGNAL

Salesforce Hunter Brings Outbound Inside the CRM

Salesforce launched Hunter this week as an outbound agent for Sales Cloud. ZoomInfo and Demandbase are its flagship data partners. Hunter learns your sales motion from calls and emails and works inside your approval rules. It shows its reasoning and asks you before any judgment call. It can surface contacts who aren't in your CRM yet. No pricing came with the launch so ask about credits before you pilot.

HubSpot Says Signals Doubled Its Outbound Conversion

HubSpot ran its own Prospecting Agent on cold books and reports more than 10x booked meetings against its manual campaigns. Conversion doubled against its best-crafted ones. The agent watches accounts for a funding round or an exec hire and drafts outreach only when something happens. When a prospect engaged a rep called. These are HubSpot's own numbers from its own pilot. The lesson holds anyway: tie every send to a signal instead of a date.

Othello Raises $8M to Coach Reps Mid-Call

Othello raised an $8M seed on October 14 led by a16z Speedrun and Owl Capital. It listens to live video calls and feeds the rep tips while the buyer is still talking. Customers and speed claims are company-reported. Coaching after the call is common. The bet is coaching in the live moment.

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH HUBSPOT

Your GTM Has a Weak Spot. Find It.

Your go-to-market feels stuck. Most of the time, nothing is broken. One or two things are just quietly costing you momentum.

Drop your URL. The free GTM Audit reads your site, pricing, and competitors, scores four dimensions, and hands you a 90-day fix list.

10 minutes. No guessing.

THE PLAY

The What Would You Miss Script

A much better product still loses if switching means giving up something the buyer relies on. This tip from The Follow Up fixes that. When you're replacing a competitor run four steps:

1. Ask: “If you stopped using it tomorrow what would you miss?”

2. List: write every answer down as a non-negotiable.

3. Prove: show how you cover each one before any feature tour.

4. Name the gap: where you can't match it say so and offer a workaround.

A report they open daily or fast support replies can matter more than your best feature. Buyers feel safe when they keep what matters while fixing what doesn't work.

THE PROMPT: Paste your call notes into Claude and ask: “Act as the buyer. List everything I heard they'd miss if they left their current tool. Then score my demo script 1 to 5 on how well it covers each one and rewrite the weakest part.”

Ask the question on your next competitive call.

THE UPGRADE

AgentSDR: An AI SDR You Host Yourself

What it replaces: AgentSDR is an open-source AI SDR under the MIT license with no seats. It runs email sequences plus LinkedIn and WhatsApp outreach with an AI CRM. It launched on Product Hunt October 9.

Set it up in 2 minutes: run git clone then cp .env.example .env then docker compose up -d from the repo. Sign up on localhost:3000 and connect Google Workspace for mailboxes. The docs walk through the rest.

Heads up: you host it and bring your own AI key. LinkedIn and WhatsApp go through a separate service called Unipile so budget for that. Read the responsible use guide before you send anything.

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SPRINTO

SOC 2 Ready in 14 days. Three sessions from you.

Enterprise buyers will not put your product near their customer data without a SOC 2 report. Sprinto gets you audit ready in 14 days, across three working sessions. AI agents do the collecting, you approve. Your auditor signs off.

RAPID FIRE

  • Pancake lets Claude or Codex run your go-to-market through MCP. You describe an idea like founders who just raised and it builds the play. You approve each lead.

  • Backdrop builds AI coworkers for research and outreach and follow-ups. Each one gets only the tools you connect.

  • Kai is an AI executive assistant that captures meetings without a bot and drafts email replies in your voice. Nothing sends without your click.

  • Articos builds synthetic buyers from your website and interviews them about your messaging. Use it to pressure-test a pitch before a real call.

SIDE INCOME IDEA

How I built a local business directory with AI

This week is all about the Scottsdale Scoop local business directory. I built it with Viktor, the AI coworker that also runs my prospecting.

It started on Airtable. We moved it onto its own database with an admin tool I can edit myself. It now lists 178 local businesses and every page is built to rank on Google.

Directories are an underrated side income play. Local search traffic finds you every day and each listing gives the newsletter one more thing to promote.

Takeaway: pick a niche you already know and build the directory nobody has bothered to make. AI makes the build the easy part.
